Unorthodox's Story

UNORTHODOX started long before it was a brand. It started with a kid from a small town who fell in love with fighting. My name is Damien Davison, and I started martial arts when I was 13 years old. Growing up in a small town meant there wasn't an MMA gym right down the street. The gym I wanted to train at was an hour away, which meant an hour there, hours spent training, and another hour home. Making it to practice wasn't always easy, but the distance made me realize how much the sport meant to me. At 15, I won a national title in Muay Thai. But instead of feeling like I had made it, it made me want to see how far I could take fighting. At 16, I traveled to Thailand to train and fight in the birthplace of Muay Thai. At 17, I went back again—still learning, still competing, and still chasing the same obsession with getting better. Now, I'm still in the middle of that journey. I'm actively training MMA, wrestling, competing, and constantly learning more about the sport. I'm not building UNORTHODOX as someone looking at fighting from the outside. I'm building it while living it. That's what UNORTHODOX represents.
